Kalamazoo Gazette - Hansel and Gretel Review

Soprano, Amy Mushall, has found great success performing opera, oratorio, recital and concert music.  The Michigan native is known for her versatility, regularly performing classical, musical theater, jazz and pop music, in particular, singing regularly with The Colorado Springs Philharmonic, The Chamber Orchestra of the Springs and Opera Theatre of the Rockies.

Some of her favorite roles include Yum-Yum (The Mikado), Baby Doe  (The Ballade of Baby Doe) , Despina (Cosi fan Tutte), Gretel (Hansel and Gretel), Mary Warren (The Crucible), Ida (Die Fledermaus), Lola (Gallantry), Mother (Amahl and the Night Visitors). She appeared as a soprano soloist in the Beethoven Choral Fantasy, Mozart Mass in C Minor, Mozart Missa Brevis, Rheinberger Mass in C Minor, and the Rutter and Fauré Requiem.

Amy is particularly pleased to introduce youth to opera with the Opera Theatre Goes to School program, sharing her love of opera with new generations of music lovers!

She is a member of The Liberty Belles, a 1940’s style trio, and was thrilled to perform with them at The Biltmore Hotel in May, 2017.  The Liberty Belles also had the honor of performing with The Colorado Springs Philharmonic under the direction of Thomas Wilson for the Fourth of July Celebration concerts throughout the Pikes Peak region.

In addition to her performing career, Amy owns a private voice studio in Colorado Springs.  Amy continues to study with Metropolitan Opera Singer Martile Rowland, Artistic Director of Opera Theater of the Rockies.
